The Second Round of the Challenge National Bouldering League took place on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, at Ġebla Climbing in Mrieħel. In a notable addition to the format, this round featured the introduction of the Adult League, enriching the competitive landscape of the event. This round was hosted as part of the Winter Climbing competition organised by Ġebla.
The event, organised by ClimbMT in collaboration with Ġebla climbing, attracted participants eager to showcase their skills on the bouldering wall. In addition to competitors, the support of volunteers was instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of the event. ClimbMT and Ġebla extended their gratitude to all volunteers who contributed their time and effort to make the day a success.
Participation for the second round of the Challenge Boulder league increased to 34 youths, with a split of 13 girls and 21 boys. The growth of the league is really encouraging and we look forward to the day when the split will be equal among boys and girls.
The finals, held in the evening, showcased the top 6 climbers (6 male, 6 female) across all age categories, who competed for the title of Ġebla winter champions. This separate event provided an exhilarating climax to the day’s activities, complementing the spirited atmosphere of the competition. The finals offered a thrilling spectacle for participants and spectators alike. Rising stars Luca Giglio (M) and Darya Scerri Diacono (F) clinched these titles.
