BMC International Trad Climbing Summer Meet 2017

The British Mountaineering Council is organising its popular bi-annual international summer climbing meet in Cornwall between 13-20 May 2017. The meeting is open to trad climbers with at least two years trad climbing experience and involves climbing daily with an experienced local guide/partner. It’s a great event which brings together climbers from all over the world with the one aim of climbing great routes every day, socialising with the other climbers while also enjoying very interesting climbing presentations.  In 2015 for example I attended the event in North Wales and thoroughly enjoyed slide shows by trad demi-god James Mchaffie and all round climbing personality and author Nick Bullock, amongst others.  Here’s a blog post by a great Indian guy I met at the North Wales event in 2015. I think he’s India’s top climber. Check out the great pics.

This event is subsidised by the BMC and in addition to a nominal fee participants will only need to pay to get to the event location i.e. flights/ train fares.

Applications have to be submitted to the BMC by mid-January so if you are interested in participating please let me know as soon as possible.  Since there are two places available a decision as to who shall attend will be taken by the MCC committee, based on trad and other climbing experience.
