Climbers unearth Victoria Lines steps in Wied il-Ghasel

A big “prosit”  (well done) goes to our friends of the Malta Rock Climbing Club for a great initiative taken recently to clean up a staircase forming part of the Victoria Lines Fortifications at  Wied il-Ghasel.  The cleanup was originally planned to improve access to the Honey Buttress climbing area, however the MRCC to their credit decided to cleanup the whole staircase from the edge of the valley down to the valley floor,  removing loads of vegetation and soil in the process.  The cleanup was coordinated by Roland Sultana while tools were kindly supplied by the Parks Department of the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs (MRRA).  Thanks to this initiative, access to this buttress has been improved dramatically, thereby benefitting all local climbers.

Nice one guys!
